Gifted and talented students function above grade level in areas such as reading, writing, math, verbal skills, critical thinking, logical reasoning, fine arts, music, and more. However, some may not have the social or emotional maturity to match their advanced academic placement.

The reading, writing, video, and speaking source material and resources used in Mrs. Christesen's classes are at an advanced middle school/high school level in order to meet the academic needs of Fast-Paced students. At times, the subject matter contained within these materials can reflect this advanced placement in terms of social justice, character motivations, relationships, historical context, and more.

All materials are PG or PG13. In some cases, videos may be muted in an attempt at censorship for certain language.

Content Warning

If you attempt to open a Google slide, document, or other resource and receive an error message, or if permission is denied and you need to request access, this is unfortunately a "you" problem.

Students using school issued Chromebooks or other tablets or devices have security features installed by the district which often prevent them from opening links, emails, websites, or other materials from senders outside the district or not on an approved list.

To continue with access to materials from CLC or those created by Mrs. Christesen for Fast-Paced class use, students can access them from a Wi-Fi enabled device that is not owned by a school district.
