WEEKLY

SCHEDULE

Folder

Each week, students will receive handouts relevant to the lesson goals and objectives covered in class. These items will be referenced in future weeks, and combined will make a unique resource packet for students at the end of the course.

Having a dedicated folder for this class will allow students to keep items organized and on hand.

Paper, Pencil, Highlighter

Sometimes our class goes a bit "old school" so it's important for students to be prepared to write with paper and pencil or pen.

Students will also need a highlighter for some of the reading assignments we will cover during class. Highlighting text and annotating thoughts in the margins allows students to better formulate essay responses or confirm answers to comprehension questions.

Highlighters are also important tools for notetaking. We will learn some of these tips and techniques which make studying for tests easier and more efficient.

Tablet or Smartphone

Students will need to bring a tablet,  Chromebook, iPad, smartphone, or other device with Wi-Fi capabilities. Each CLC campus has free guest Wi-Fi.

At times, students will need to access this class website and related links for online assessment tools.

Please note that devices issued by middle schools are subject to security software installed by the individual school district and may be prevented from accessing files, emails, or websites from a non-district outside source.

Additional Resources

Students can visit the Resources page to find additional documents, websites, and videos to assist in their learning journey.

To see the page, click on the Resources button or on the word Resources from the main menu.

Within the Plan, Study, Excel section will be items related to our course study.

Weekly Classroom Supplies

Mrs. C would love to publish your writing! You can submit a short story, narrative, poem, or any type of writing. It does not need to be finished or a final draft. It does, however, need to follow a few rules:

  • Email your submission to Mrs. C with your first name, last initial, and grade level.

  • Make sure a release form is signed by a parent or guardian and is on file with Mrs. C.

  • Remember that plagiarism is frowned upon both at school and in the real world.

  • Our publishing guidelines will keep us to a PG or PG13 rating in terms of content and language.
